Probably because your good intentions were inadvertently cornering her. [ at least he's going to give lila the benefit of the doubt, there, because she's been nothing but a good person in his proximity. not that kaoruko wasn't, too. ] I doubt she'll be happy with a lot of us going to talk to her.
But hopefully, someone does. And someone gets a reason out of her for murdering the guy. [ because he wants to know the why. ]
[ he wipes his hand off on a kitchen towel, before reaching over to ruffle her hair a little at the back. not enough to mess it up, because he's got a read on her for that, but enough for a moment of tactile contact. ]
