Probably because your good intentions were inadvertently cornering her. [ at least he's going to give lila the benefit of the doubt, there, because she's been nothing but a good person in his proximity. not that kaoruko wasn't, too. ] I doubt she'll be happy with a lot of us going to talk to her.
But hopefully, someone does. And someone gets a reason out of her for murdering the guy. [ because he wants to know the why. ]

Maybe. It would've given us a chance to actually talk to her - even five, ten, fifteen minutes sooner, and we would've at least been able to ask why.
