It was all just a misunderstanding. Well - no, okay, the part about the war in the past and all the bloodshed and everything was not a misunderstanding, my dad is seriously the worst. [...] Uh, was the worst.

[he seems very unbothered by that past tense, at least. anyways.]

But the part about the prophecy, and the whole forest overtaking the world of men thing - it didn't turn out the way we thought. It was okay.

How did it turn out, then...?

Okay, so like... [he sighs.] Backstory! It was this whole thing. So, like the huge creepy spider monster was saying, Amir and I... Our dads fought this huge war right after we were born. One thing led to another, the earth itself cursed them, then a huge, evil forest started spreading over both of our kingdoms. So we knew that would keep happening unless we fulfilled the prophecy, and because of the war they had started and the way it was worded, everyone kind of assumed that one kingdom rising meant - one of us beating the other in combat in a very final way.

[this lore...... but he just kind of sighs after that, frowning.]

But that was stupid, and wrong, and everyone had just been interpreting it in a really incorrect way. It turned out not to be about one kingdom winning, or conquering, or anything like that, it was about... unity. About rising together, not one rising over the other.

I mean, I'm engaged because I'm in love with him and he's the best part of my life? But yeah, that tied into it for sure.

Yeah, that's why I said part of it. It definitely didn't seem like you were just looking at him dutifully before, back at the waterfall.

Well, we literally just got engaged on the day I came here, so. If we get out of here okay, probably a couple months down the line.

Depending on how long we're stuck here, the entirety of your engagement period might pass before you get back. So, you should get married as soon as you return.

Ha. I'm pretty sure my mom would kill me if we didn't plan some kind of ceremony, but it's a nice thought.

They definitely do not! What's Vegas?

It's a city in the United States. It's known for all kinds of things, but like, quick weddings are one of them! You can have a wedding ceremony ready to go in, like, an hour.

[heartlands]

Yeah, but then... Where's the party? Do they have that ready in an hour, too?

[wtfox]

In Vegas, they could have a party ready in minutes. They're just like that.

[heartlands]

Okay, your turn. What's the guy you're dating like? I think his name was - Adrien?

Oh, he's wonderful! He's such a sweetheart... we're in the same class, and I recently got work modeling for his father's fashion brand, so we see a lot of each other.

He's always super nice to everyone... which I guess is why a lot of girls fall for him. Handsome and sweet? Usually you have to settle for just one!

[despite how het this is, he smiles.]

then again, if she was well and truly dead because of him, she wouldn't even be around to be frustrated, so. maybe that's why - because although the execution sucked, dying doesn't really feel real.]
