lila very much wants to know, but more importantly, she's got a delivery! so when she spots her she calls out, keeping her distance lest she be uncomfortable still -]
Manwol - don't run off, I got burn ointment for you. I can just leave it here if you want...
[this is very embarrassing because Manwol thought this was the Fall Dorm???? She turns around at the sound of Lila's voice, but instead of once again booking it into the nearest bush she stays in one place.]
I like Alphinaud a lot; he's been a wonderful dormmate. But I get along pretty well with Kon and Bradley, too...?
[...]
Did... something happen? All four of you were acting a little, um... well, you were injured, so that's probably why... I hope you all feel better soon.
[Manwol smiles a little -- it's a little hollow, but]
...I don't mind telling you. It's true that you're young, but you're here with the rest of us. That means you might have to endure the same things. It's not fair to you if you're kept in the dark just because others think they know better.
[age is tricky, youth is trickier. If God was a perfect being, then kids like Lila and Hope wouldn't have to go through this in the first place?? but they're not, so shielding them from the truth might just hurt them in the long run.]
...as long as you don't mind talking about it? Of course I want to know what happened - my age doesn't have anything to do with it. We're all stuck dealing with this place together, so it's better to know than to not know.
[she bites her lip.]
But... you just had to experience all of that, so I don't want to make you relive it just because I want to know.
[very tempted to let that hang there all cryptically, but Manwol's demeanor is mostly business-like. there is Trauma but she refuses to Perceive,]
We were given a false set of memories. I call them false, but a part of me truly believes they happened. That's the reason why all of us reacted so strangely when we saw you. We have memories of you, and a few others, that don't align with the reality here.
[she'd get into the nitty gritty details (no she won't) but more importantly,]
It's proof that this place can do more than just lock us in a dorm at night. It can take us to another location entirely without any prior warning, and it can alter our memories.
bad! very bad. lila's eyes widen - sure, this is not a terribly detailed explanation, but she can fill in the blanks. and even without details, knowing people can be whisked away and have their memories altered...]
Did it... have something to do with why you four were hurt? Or was that separate from the memories?
It had some relation, yes. There was a monster towards the end there and it wanted to kill us because of what we supposedly did. Its feelings were pretty justified though.
[she can only talk pragmatically about it now tbh]
I can't claim to know how the others are feeling, but I do think your presence might help them. It's important to remind them of what's real.
...I'm fine. It's nothing that I haven't seen before.
[hate that manwol says this.]
We did find a few things in the forest when we came back. Papers. We were planning to make copies and show everyone tomorrow, but you can probably see Alphinaud's tonight.
[yikes! i don't even know what manwol's canon is about but if she's seen stuff that's similar to a cyoa, big yikes.]
Oh... good thinking!
[maybe the other group found papers of some kind, too...?]
If he wants to show me tonight, I'll gladly take a look at them, but I don't mind waiting until everyone can see them tomorrow, either. [...] I'm really glad the four of you made it back.
[she's in a classroom on the first floor!!! the door is open so it doesn't look like Jail, but it's fine. She looks a little amused, but not like meanly.]
No, because I didn't do it! I'd rather they voted for someone who actually did...!
[she huffs]
Only an idiot would volunteer if they were the killer. A bunch of us just took the easy way out instead of trying to find the culprit...! How can you be okay with this?
[she looks surprised for a moment, and for once doesn't think of something glib to say back.]
...I'm furious.
[softly,]
At these circumstances, at the way we were all taken here to play a game we never agreed to play... But I can't be angry at you, the others -- or even Lan Wangji's killer. You're all victims, same as me.
[they probably don't have ghosts where she's from, but clearly they do in other places, so - maybe manwol is right about this. maybe this place will, too. maybe getting expelled won't be the end of it.]
I'm not about to let this place get the better of me. So if there's something we can do...
w1, thursday

Manwol - don't run off, I got burn ointment for you. I can just leave it here if you want...

...Did you use a voucher?
no subject
...and the things we get with vouchers are supposed to be helpful, so... hopefully it will work.
no subject
Did you give ointment to the others already?
no subject
[she glances at the summer dorm]
I wasn't sure where to find you, so I'm glad you were here.
no subject
...So you're living with Alphinaud. [hm! wow! cool beans!] He must be taking it the hardest then. Unless you're closer to Bradley or Kon?
no subject
[she looks. really confused.]

I'll check in with them again, then. And I'll probably see Alphinaud at the dorm... [no escape for alphi!] ...are you holding up okay, though?

I am too. Now that I'm back, I think I'm due for some answers from whoever's in charge. You can't just leave a debts unpaid, right?

...this place owes you answers, Manwol. It owes all of us answers, but... you especially.
no subject
Don't worry. I still fully intend on taking my share. Death hasn't stopped me before, you know. I'm pretty sure it won't stop me now.
[...]
So you do the same, Lila. Who knows? We might figure something out if we have people working on both sides.
