First things first, grab a marshmallow and put it on a stick. Then we'll roast it over the fire.

How long d'ya roast for?

That depends on how charred you like it! I usually go until the outside is golden brown.

[battling]

I'll try it yer way first.

[she's been roasting her marshmallow for longer, so it's golden-brown now... she pulls it away from the fire and shows it to him]

Somethin' like "lightly toasted" huh?

You get a graham cracker, split it in half, put some chocolate on one half, put the marshmallow on top of that, and then put the other half on top to make a sandwich!

[she does exactly that as she talks, to demonstrate.]

[He will follow right along and puts the whole thing into his mouth.]

[she giggles! and takes more delicate bites of her s'more. it's fine.

For real? Ain't like anythin' in these is seasonal.

No, but they're best made over fire, and bonfires are kind of an autumn thing!

Seem like they'd be good in winter too.

Probably! But I think a lot of people do them in autumn because it's just cold enough that the fire is nice, but not so cold that you want to go inside, like it sometimes is during winter.
