I think you're probably overthinking it. When they realize the extra credit was done, they'll know the rule was broken, right? They can tell you if there needs to be a punishment.

For me, it's probably my mom. She's really busy with her work at the embassy a lot of the time, but she always goes out of her way to leave notes for me even if she has to leave before I wake up, so I know she tries to talk to me.
