by which i mean she's hanging out on the grass with a coloring book spread out in front of her, humming as she colors. she catches a flash of purple out of the corner of her eye, then looks up.]
Right? Even with this whole kidnapping, you're-not-in-your-own-world-and-you-can't-go-back-yet-and-also-take-classes thing, this is probably the least busy I've been in a really long time?
[she sits up.]
It's kinda weird. I don't know what to do with myself.
I know! What does anyone even do with this free time! I'm always running after someone or something or some monster! Now it's simply . . . take a nap. Go color. Ask people invasive questions.
All kinds, all kinds. Gnolls, Phase Spiders, Trolls, Merrow-- Suppose in the end, most things are similar. Hit it until it falls over. Cut off its ears and turn them in for the bounty. Hopefully help a few people out.
[this is probably like right after their mad dash back to the trial with a teapot just in time for bloody mary to lunge at kaoruko and kaoruko to get voted for, which means lila is still in her compost-y and smoothie-y clothes. gross.]
...we really voted for someone because a dog didn't like them? And we were actually right?
[Yeah, he ... feels a bit terrible after everything that happened, and maybe a little guilty for probably freaking Lila out. Wandering over, watching what she's doing for a second.]
... Don't injure yourself over it. Not yet, anyway.
[well! that was an investigation. after watching the monitors to see which poor saps will be joining them on sunday, lila wanders outside and finds one empty-headed(?) tiefling vibing on the equipment.
[Head half-empty. Or half-full, maybe? He nods. So at least he's communicating pretty good by now. His emotions right now are ... contemplative. More than anything. But once she wanders over, he offers out a package of what seems to be homemade chocolates to her?]
Well, he'll give her some space after the discussion, but eventually, he'll come seek her out. Giving her enough distance she doesn't have to deal with the emotion share if she doesn't want.
[she has to step within range of the emotionshare to take a piece of that chocolate, but she backs off once she has it - so he'll just get a mix of anger, resentment, bitterness, and a teeny, tiny bit of hope? which she immediately tries to snuff out because she doesn't want to get her hopes up. she sucks.
anyway, once she backs out of emotionshare range, she nibbles on the chocolate and smiles.]
[That's alright. He'll just let her scoot off, sitting down nearby, tail sort of swishing while he thinks. As the day goes he's been getting more and more talkative. Like the sort of grogginess of a deep sleep finally shaking off.]
. . . You know, I don't think people forget that easily.
she looks down at that and nibbles at the chocolate.]
...they always have before. When you move away, everyone says they'll keep in touch. They'll call, or write, or email... and maybe they do at first, but then one week between messages turns into two or three turns into nothing.
I don't know about all of that. Just ... the right kind of people. That's my point. That the people around here, despite all the murder and horseshit and magic crystal balls with information, they're good people. They don't forget.
I'm not going to argue that, because they are insane.
[They. They did some crazy shit already following his body through Fantasy Antarctica. He won't argue they don't want him back or anything, that feels disingenuous, but.]
But that doesn't mean they don't want you to be safe. I don't know who's going to win this thing or who they'll pick, but certainly any one of us is going to be thinking of the others. No one gets left behind. No one gets forgotten. I'll promise you that.
I'm fairly certain it is safer here. For example, no one has gotten decapitated in days. Nothing wrong with keeping your own hands out of the fire until you need them.
[He sort of phrases that like a joke, but. It's also serious? But he tilts his head at the second part.]
You know, this isn't really a ... they're out there and we're stuck in here. They're stuck. They can't talk about anything. We've seen them talking at trials. We saw what happened to Adora. We're the ones with clear heads.
Yeah, but they can still... they can still do something about it, and all we can do is watch and wait and hope that someone decides to come through for us.
[she wraps her arms around herself. she's trying to keep her distance, but she's radiating so much misery he can probably feel it anyway. awful.]
The only one who's ever come through for me is me. I'd rather be out there, risking not being in my right mind but still able to do something, than be perfectly clearheaded and know that help isn't going to come. It never has before.
w0, monday
by which i mean she's hanging out on the grass with a coloring book spread out in front of her, humming as she colors. she catches a flash of purple out of the corner of her eye, then looks up.]
Oh, hey! What are you up to?
no subject
Suppose I'm just passing the time. Been a while since I haven't had to be rushing somewhere. Odd feeling.
no subject
[she sits up.]
It's kinda weird. I don't know what to do with myself.
no subject
Only thing this place could use is a bathhouse.
no subject
[she hums]
What kind of monsters do you usually run after?
no subject
no subject
So you're, like, a hero?
w0, friday
anyway.
lila is running around near the dorms!]
Bloody Mary? Bloody Mary! Bloody Mary, where are you...?!
[at least she's not saying this in front of a mirror i guess]
no subject
. . . Interesting game.
no subject
[she looks confused, then worried.]
No, it's not a game - it's the name of his dog. I can't find her, she wasn't in the dorm...
no subject
[It takes him a second before he connects the dogs here, but he seems to get it after a second.]
Oh the ... Do you want help looking?
no subject
[would someone really have killed a dog????
(they killed an idol and yet somehow killing the dog is crossing the line.)]
no subject
[Yeah killing a sweet pet in a murdergame is the worst crime you could possibly do, actually. Molly gets up with a bit of a stretch.]
Alright, sure, we'll look. Said it's name was Bloody Mary?
[giving a whistle like you would for calling a dog.]
no subject
[hm! she'll try a whistle too
sadly, no dogs come running, but... is that the pitter-patter of goose feet they're hearing...?]
no subject
[His head whips around at the geese sound though-- going into a defensive position.]
Shit. Feck. They've found me again.
no subject
[but - oof. geese.
lila reaches for his hand to grab him and tug him along]
They don't like me either - let's run!
no subject
I-- Well, sure? Why not?
[Just taken by the hand to run? He's running. Fucking geese!!!]
no subject
they abscond. there's some indignant honking and the rustling of feathers and -
lila looks back over her shoulder]
Why are they flying after us?!
[aaaaaaaaaaaa]
w0, saturday 2.0
...we really voted for someone because a dog didn't like them? And we were actually right?
[she sounds like she can't believe it.]
w1, saturday
catch lila angrily kicking at a tree once they're out of the gym because wow! scapegoating! that sucks!]
no subject
... Don't injure yourself over it. Not yet, anyway.
no subject
[she grumbles and kicks the tree again.]
no subject
He comes over to to kick the tree.]
If I-- Wanted to apologize. Didn't mean to get after you about the geese.
no subject
[
if she was getting seriously accused it actually sort of went over her head.]
no subject
You looked as if you were getting pretty worried.
no subject
[...]
All of the potential pairs for an older person and a younger person just... didn't feel right. But, I...
[she bites her lip]
...I can't stop wondering if maybe it was a teacher, like Ichiro said.
w4, friday
she raises a hand in a wave.]
Getting some fresh air?
no subject
no subject
lila looks a little surprised by the offer, but she takes a piece of homemade chocolate and smiles.]
...thanks. You holding up okay?
no subject
... Is what it is?
[A whole thought........]
no subject
lila's vibes are surprised and then a little proud and amused. you go, molly(?)]
Yeah... it was always going to be someone. [...] I don't really like being, like, resigned to it. But... you're right. It is what it is.
W4 - SATURDAY
Well, he'll give her some space after the discussion, but eventually, he'll come seek her out. Giving her enough distance she doesn't have to deal with the emotion share if she doesn't want.
Offering the chocolates again.]

anyway, once she backs out of emotionshare range, she nibbles on the chocolate and smiles.]

no subject
[A pause.]
Before- ... Before I came here, I was in a grave. For about a year, I think. When I went into it, they'd only known me for a month or so.
no subject
well, that startles her. she looks up, her brows furrowing slightly.]
...then it's like Aikawa said. You must have been really important to them, even though they'd only known you a short time.
no subject
I don't know about all of that. Just ... the right kind of people. That's my point. That the people around here, despite all the murder and horseshit and magic crystal balls with information, they're good people. They don't forget.
no subject
[she fiddles with her necklace]
...still, they... you should have seen the reactions to what happened to you. There's no way they don't want you back.
no subject
I'll promise you that.
no subject
[so if they're going to bring anyone back... it's probably going to be an adult! a. two-year-old adult. it's fine.
she sounds resigned to it.]
...no one left behind or forgotten, huh... that's probably part of why they want you back so badly. You're that kind of person.
no subject
[He sort of phrases that like a joke, but. It's also serious? But he tilts his head at the second part.]
You know, this isn't really a ... they're out there and we're stuck in here. They're stuck. They can't talk about anything. We've seen them talking at trials. We saw what happened to Adora. We're the ones with clear heads.

w6, sunday
lila smiles faintly at molly wherever they end up.]
...I guess you were right after all.
no subject
The thing about it is that I usually am. [Don't sound so smug.] Very glad to see you.
no subject
[glitter everywhere... there'll be no getting that out...]
...thanks for not forgetting.
